Annet makes bricks and sells foodstuffs at the road side with her Aunt. Her husband owns a plot of land where she makes her bricks from. She is helped by some people to do some of the activities like fetching water, digging soil, mixing it and she pays them some money. She says the weather is good for her business at the moment because it’s shiny and in three days the raw bricks are dry. She makes up to 2,000 bricks of which she needs the loan to help her pay labor to make more bricks as well as fetch water. She expects to earn up to 2 million Uganda shillings after five months if she succeeds to get this loan. This will help her meet daily needs at her home and probably build a house for her family.
Annet was abandoned at her grandmothers’ who could not take her to school. With no hope of going to school her Aunt took her to work in the vanilla factory. Years later the factory was closed and Annet’s only option was to do casual work in people’s homes so as to survive. With two children under her care, Annet meets basic needs from road side selling of foodstuffs with her Aunt and making bricks which she learnt a year ago. All she asking for is your support to continue helping her family through her business.
