Business plan
Harriet says she gets the sweet bananas from the nearby villages of Ntanzi, sai, Kawoowo and Kituuza and she transports them on a bicycle or motorcycle to her home in Nakibanga where she ferments them with a sorghum and after 6 days she is ready to sell the local brew (tonto). She says that of recent her market has increased because she now gets most of her orders from the bar owners and yet her capital is still a bit small but she would like to get another loan such that she can add on her stock and be able to satisfy her customer base and in return she will get more profits to start a piggery farm and to also provide basic necessities to her family.
Personal situation
Harriet says she got pregnant while she was in her primary seven and she ran away from home to be with her husband and it’s the husband who gave her money to start her business.
