Harriet an agricultural farmer farms sweet potatoes, beans, cassava and maize mostly for sale and domestic use. She plants on a small scale. She is borrowing so as to plant on a large scale by hiring a larger piece of land . She feels she will be able to sell to a large market which will give her reasonable profits to sustain her family. Harriet says that after borrowing, she now plants crops on a large scale compared to before and her profits are more.
Harriet explains that her education was not easy as she grew up with her step mother who never liked her at any one moment. After Harriet’s failure to study, she immediately got married with five children now. She says that she has been an animal keeper for 15 years.
