Business plan
Jennifer has 3 cows, 4 pigs and piglets that she rears under zero grazing system though she has no shed for the animals and in most cases she ties them under trees. Jennifer says that her main worry is that of the prolonged drought and they might fall sick and thus some may die or all of them and yet she has no money at the moment that she can use to construct a shelter, buy vaccine and feeds for them that will keep them away from such harsh conditions that is why she has decided to request for a loan and be able to build a shelter for her animals. Jennifer also carries out crop farming and she plants yams, cassava and sweet potatoes that she normally sells from her home but she says she would like to prepare land for next season by hiring an ox plough. Jennifer says these businesses will both make her more profits that she will use to educate her children.
Personal situation
Jennifer was born in Naluvule and studied from Mwanyanjiri primary school and went to seeta college upto senior two. She later dropped out of school after her father’s death as no one was there to pay for her. Jennifer says her Aunt brought to Mpata to teach her tailoring and instead got a boy friend that married her and gave her land for cultivating and rearing animals.
