Business plan
Getrude’s home is a bit distant from the town Centre of her village and that’s why she chose to rent a small room in the town which is just by the road side heading to Katosi where she put her bar. Getrude makes her own local brew which is called Malwa in the local name and this is a mixture of sorghum, millet and cassava flour. Getrude says that of recent her customers were requesting her to also introduce other manufactured beers like Nile special, club, etc though she lacks the money to buy them as they are quite expensive and that is why she wants to get another loan and be able to stock these beers and start rearing pigs. Getrude says that she will make more profits that she will use to carter for her family’s needs.
Personal situation
Getrude was born in Kikuuta village in Mukono district and that’s where she studied from up to her primary seven since her parents did not have money to educate her. Getrude later got married and her husband brought her to Gonve village where they both live and her husband gave her money to start her business.
